What better way is there than a fresh cup of coffee to get you up and running on a monday morning. Personally the day does not start for me till I can get my hands on a cup for myself. But it is not in my personality to buy a cup of coffee every single day. I like to make my own cup of coffee. If you are like me and you are in need of getting a coffee machine for it, then you are the right place. In this article we will be reviewing the best coffee machine for home use. We will also educate you on what you need to look for in the best coffee machine. If this interests you then let’s keep reading.

How to pick the best coffee machine for home?

There are certain requirements that have to be fulfilled in order to be classed as a good coffee maker. In this section we will discuss that. It will cover everything you need to keep your eyes open for.

The design

A coffee maker is not something that you want to be occupying the entirety of your kitchen top. It should be compact enough to save space while doing its job. You do not want a coffee maker that can only make two cups of coffee before it runs out.

Having a coffee maker with a stylish design can greatly ramp up the look of your kitchen. It can catch the eye of your guests and give you a smile every morning as your coffee chugs away.

It should be easy to use. You don’t want to wake up at 6 a.m and start your day by pressing a million switches and knobs. It should be easy to use and manage.

An aspect that many do not consider when buying a coffee maker for their homes. The milk frother is what makes cafe coffee taste and look like, well, cafe coffee! Instant coffee that you get off the packets will never have that fizz without the effect of a milk frother.

Buy a coffee machine that has a milk frother to spice up your regular coffee to be cafe quality from the comfort of your home.

A coffee machine is a luxury appliance. Not every household has one, therefore they do not come cheap. When you are purchasing a certain model make sure it has everything you want. Because an upgrade will cost you a whole lot more later on. This does not mean you have to go for something way above your paygrade. But make sure the purchase gives what you want.

Does it have a double shot option?

Not every coffee maker gives you this option. The double shot adds that extra bang to your cup. It is what makes you start the day all jiggly allowing you to hop to work instead of dragging your feet on the pavement.

Types of coffee machines

There are 3 standard coffee machines for home/personal use. We have taken our picks from these three. Not to worry we have at least one selection from each so that everyone is happy.

  1. Espresso

For users that love variety and options when making their coffee, the Espresso is the way to go. These barista machines run pressurized water through a container of finely ground coffee. Thereby creating a rich blend of coffee that has the taste of your favourite beans in every sip. The best coffee machine even has a frother in its arsenal. This allows you to froth milk, allowing you create those lattes and cappuccinos that you find in your favourite cafe.

  2. Drip

The cheapest of coffee machines. The dripper is the simplest of coffee machines. You fill up a container of water that drips into another container which has your ground coffee in it. The water slowly makes its way down, absorbing the flavour and the taste. Finally, it will get funnelled out into the catcher below that fills up with your precious brew. They are very affordable and need very little maintenance.

  3. Capsule

This is very popular among households. Let’s say you want something more than the drip but something less than the espresso. Well there you go, the capsule coffee machine is your go option here. The best coffee machine at home has to be something that is easy to use. The capsule offers just that.
There are pod/capsules that you can buy on the market. These capsules contain a standard amount of ground coffee for a cup of coffee. When you need a cup, the machine will pierce a single capsule and run a stream of pressurized water through it. One capsule makes one cup.
It is great for beginners that do not have any experience in brewing. You do not have to grind your beans, or adjust any settings. Press some buttons and you are done.

De’Longhi Nespresso Lattissima Touch

best coffee machine for home

De’Longhi has been surprising us with their range of home appliances. They have been putting up a good fight against older brands such as Philiphs that have been in the market for far longer. This is another great product by De’Longhi and let me show you why.

First off, the Breville capsule is better than this. But it offers something that Breville does not. It is quiet. The best coffee maker at home has to be something that caters to your needs. If you want a quieter option to go with, then here you go.

Overall, it is quite easy to use. Nothing overly complicated which compliments its capsule principle. But it does look a bit off. And from that we mean the design, they could have definitely gone with a better model for this coffee maker. But it is not something that would affect the quality of the coffee so we can not really complain much about it.

It is very compact. Therefore it will fit on any kitchen or work surface. Even though it is small, it has an impressive storage capacity. You can definitely pull off an all nighter with the amount of coffee this bad boy pulls off. University students, meet your new best friend.
